Who Cares About Tom Brady's Jersey?
What's the big deal about Tom Brady's lost Jersey?
The biggest story to come out of the 2017 Super Bowl was Tom Brady's missing jersey. Somebody stole his game worn jersey? Really? Who cares?
As I mentioned in a video I posted last year, I find the entire premise of giving value to things like that to be pretty silly. To me, objects are objects. None of them are special, especially if they are mass produced items that one particular person held in their hands at one point in time. The very notion that those are any different than any of the countless duplicates that were made is simply strange.
I can picture myself trying to explain this to somebody from another culture, or even another planet... "Here's 1000 football jerseys. They're all the same, except this one, because Tom Brady wore it in a big game.". Simply pointless.
