Windows Should Include a Spreadsheet

Why is Microsoft always two steps behind Apple?
Although many people don't use spreadsheets or word processing programs enough to justify the purchase price of Microsoft office, they may need to use one once in a while.
Microsoft does include a simple word processor called WordPad that can handle most word processing, but for some reason, they still don't include a spreadsheet program.
Apple includes a full featured suite of productivity programs with OS X but Microsoft still doesn't see the value. While some people debate whether it's better than Microsoft Office or not, the fact is, they include it for free, and it does include "Pages", "Numbers", and "Keynote", which are powerful word processor, spreadsheet, and slideshow programs.
Because Microsoft earns quite a lot of revenue from its office suites, it's understandable why they don't include the full featured suite, but omitting the ability to view or create at least simple spreadsheets is a must.
A while back, Microsoft saw this need so they often bundled a scaled down suite call Microsoft Works, but they made the mistake of using entirely different file formats for each document. This not only made it hard to exchange files with other people, but it caused documents you created with it be improperly formatted when you eventually purchased the full featured version of Office.
The bottom line is they need to include basic functionality while retaining compatibility with Office.
