Planes Should Block Pilots From Intentional Harm

I've had this idea in my head for almost 15 years. We need to stop focusing on stronger doors and taking away nail clippers. Let's render the planes incapable of harming human life.
Right after 9/11, when everyone focused on beefing up security and locking the pilot's door, all I could think of is... Who cares about the door? Just make sure the plane has a self-defense system that blocks ANYONE from intentionally causing harm with the plane. We all know the bad guys went to flight school to learn how to be pilots. It would only be a matter of time before the bad guys didn't need weapons to get into the cockpit, because they would eventually find a way to become actual pilots.
We have planes today that can take off, fly into a war zone, drop bombs with pinpoint accuracy, then fly back and land on a moving ship. Google makes cars without steering wheels, that are capable of navigating a busy San Francisco street during rush hour, then drop you off at work and return to pick you up later in the day... yet we can't have a plane that can avoid hitting a building or a mountain, even though the GPS, and it's other navigation systems know it's going to happen?
Commercial planes are too dangerous to trust human operation alone. When a plane detects a pilot is planning on hitting something, it should be programmed to step in and prevent the plane from hitting the target.
Look, this isn't science fiction. We already have most of this technology. Every commercial plane today can take off, fly, and land, entirely on auto-pilot.
I'm not suggesting we remove the pilot. I'm just saying that when the plane detects that the pilot is potentially doing something harmful, it should take over and prevent it from happening.
Obviously, there would need to be safeguards to insure automatic control is only taken when there is a clear threat, but this would not be very difficult using today's technology. GPS, Radar, Lidar, Sonar and other technologies can make intentional crash detection very reliable.
