Who says that every side of a sofa has to be soft?
Regardless of what any furniture maker thinks, nobody today is making truly unique furniture, especially sofas. There may be different ways of styling them, but for the most part, every sofa follows the same basic design inside, then they cover it on all sides with fabric or leather.
For sofa makers, that design helps them cover up all sorts of ugly features of their designs.
