In the 70s and 80s, CB Radios were very popular among truck drivers and people who simply enjoy talking to other people when they drive. For some people their CB Radio was nothing more than a lifeline in the event of an emergency, but for others it was a way of life.
I have fond memories of that time because CB Radios created a real community among people who used them. People who were complete strangers would start conversations, share jokes, or give directions and traffic reports to anyone who asked.
