Scientific Way to Make People Honest

Believe it or not, scientists have found a way to make people more honest.
A few years ago, scientists did a study to see the kinds of circumstances that cultivate honest behavior, and surprisingly they actually found a universal trigger for honesty, and it's as simple as making people see themselves in the mirror.
What the scientists did was put a bowl of candy on a table with a sign that said "Take one", then recorded the number of people who were honest and took only one piece of candy verses the number who took more than one.
They repeated the test with a second group of people. This time they made one small change; they placed a mirror next to the bowl so each person had to look themselves in the eye as they took the candy. To their surprise, the percentage of people who took more than once piece dropped drastically, which means that people had a hard time being dishonest after looking themselves in the eye.
After seeing the results, they did one last test. This time, they substituted a picture of a pair of eyes in place of the mirror, to see whether it mattered if they were looking themselves in the eye, or it any pair of eyes would have the same effect. Surprisingly, although they had fewer dishonest people than the group who had the mirror, they still had much less than the first group, that had no mirror or picture of eyes.
The conclusion is that people are more likely to be honest when they are forced to look inside their conscience. Seeing their own eyes, or even the eyes of a strange is all it takes for people to be reminded about who they really are inside, or who they would like to be.
It's a well known fact that people have a hard time lying when they are forced to look somebody in the eye. It's even harder when they are forced to look into their own eyes. This study makes that perfectly clear.
