There are lots of mops out there with solid poles
It's all about packaging. There are tons of mops and brooms sold with solid poles, but they created the segmented poles so they can stand out from the rest by putting them on smaller shelves alongside other cleaners.
Meanwhile, there are now copycat sweeping systems located right next to the mops and brooms, with solid poles.
