Sports Should Include Men AND Women By Joe Crescenzi, Founder Staten Island, NY Posted: 3/19/2015 1:00:00 AM If some women are just as athletic as men, why not let them join men's teams?This has bugged me for years. While it may be true that the average man is stronger than the average woman, I find it hard to believe that after over 100 years of professional sports, we still have rules that exclude women from playing alongside men.Sports should be gender agnostic. If a woman can demonstrate the strength and skills needed to make the cut for a team, she should be able to play. It's that simple.Given the chance, women who are top ranked in their respective sports leagues are at least as good, and probably better than a large percentage of men in pro sports.It's even more important that young girls are given the chance to play and compete with young boys. I can't stress this enough. This would not only give young girls access to better coaching, but open up countless scholarship opportunities.
