Mattress Hotels. Sleep on it.

Mattress companies... WAKE UP! You're missing obvious marketing partnerships... with HOTELS!
This idea is so simple, it boggles my mind. Every time somebody checks into a hotel, there's a golden opportunity for customers to test drive mattresses.
Let's say you're checking into a hotel, in addition to asking for a non-smoking room, wouldn't it be great if you were also asked "Tempur-Pedic, Sleep Number, or Sealy"? If you're planning on staying more than a few days, that's a great opportunity to try all three, or more.
Most of the time, the brand, make and model of the mattress are completely unknown. In some hotels, that's on purpose, because they may use low quality beds. If bedding companies struck partnerships with the hotels, they could not only tell you what bed you slept on, but let the customer order one at checkout.
It's a complete win-win situation for everyone. Hotels would get high quality beds for free or nearly free from the mattress companies, and potentially share in the revenue. Mattress companies would benefit from consumers trying out the beds, and consumers would have a way to try out the beds before making an investment.
Even consumers who aren't in the market for a new bed would benefit by having a better sleeping experience, which also improves the reputation of the hotel. No matter how you look at it, there are so many positive reasons for this idea you have to wonder why we don't see anyone taking advantage of this.
With premium mattresses costing several thousand dollars, I can easily imagine mattress companies giving customers discount coupons for hotels that use their mattresses. Mattress companies like Sleepy's could make arrangements with local hotels to dedicate at least one or two rooms each night for "Test Drives".
There are quite a few ways for hotels, mattress companies and retailers to tap into this concept. They point is, the opportunity is there, just waiting for someone to wake up to it.
