Tesla Lawnmower

If Tesla Makes the best batteries in the word, and the best electric motors in the world, why not build the best lawnmower in the world?
Electric cars have been around for decades, so when Elon Musk founded Tesla Motors, his goal wasn't to simply build an electric car. If that was all he wanted, he would've done what everyone else did, put an electric motor and a battery inside an existing car frame and viola... an electric car.
Thankfully, he had bigger ambitions, because before Tesla came along, electric cars were pretty bad. The batteries and motors were huge, heavy... and weak. Because of this, the cars were slow, and they couldn't go far without running out of power. Many of them weren't even fast enough to keep up with highway traffic, so you could only use them for local roads.
Unlike older generations of electric cars, Tesla's batteries and motors are relatively small, light and above all... fast. By fast, I mean real F-A-S-T! These cars not only keep up with highway traffic, but they can outpace even the most expensive sports cars. Even their SUV can keep up with a Corvette by hitting 0-60 in about 3.2 seconds. That's fast.
In order to pull this off, Tesla had to reinvent the two most important parts... the battery, and the electric motor. The result is that they now make what is arguably the best batteries in the world... and the best electric motors in the world.
If you combine the two most important parts of Tesla's cars, the motor and the battery, you've got everything you need to build the world's greatest electric lawnmower... all you need is the blade.
This reminds me of when John F. Kennedy challenged us to put a man on the moon by the end of the 1960s. In order to reach that goal, scientists and engineers pushed science and engineering to it's limits, and the result was that many of the inventions and scientific breakthroughs that were made for the launch are now found in thousands of gadgets we use every day. So there's no reason why Tesla's advances in batteries and electric motors can't make their way into other items we use every day.
Although I don't expect to see Tesla Lawnmowers in Home Depot any time soon, I do think they should license out their battery and motor designs to some of the major lawnmower companies, like Black + Decker.
Most lawnmowers, especially commercial models are loud, inefficient and they make a lot of smoke.
Green lawns should be maintained by... green technology.
