If you ask the typical child if they left their dish in the sink, there's a good chance they'll say "Not Me".
Just about every parent knows the feeling of walking into the kitchen to find a sink full of dishes, and a room full of kids who won't admit to putting them there.
One solution is to give each child their own personalized dish set, then tell each child they are responsible for keeping it clean. This not only makes it easy to determine which child left their dishes in the sink. but it also teaches them about responsibility, because they know they will be held accountable if it's not taken care of.
For this to work, they need to be aware that they are responsible for their dishes, even if a sibling uses their set, which is a great way to insure they truly understand their responsibility.
