How Search Engines Take Advantage of Advertisers

I've got a BEEF with Google and Bing.
Google and Bing make billions of dollars when people click on ads in their search engines. So, if you search for "hotels in Miami", they return a Search Engine Results Page (SERP), which contains a mixture web site listings, and ads from companies who pay to be listed on that page. Fair enough, but what if somebody already knows what site they want to go to, and types the exact domain into the search box?
When somebody enters the exact domain they want into the search box, the fair thing would be for the search engine to bring the visitor directly to the website... NOT a search engine results page.
The reason the search engines don't take the visitor directly to the site they typed in is pure greed. They know that by taking the visitor to the site they actually asked for, they won't make any money from search results, so they give the visitor the search results page instead, which contains listings and ads from competitors sites.
Because of this, the web site is forced to pay for ads for their own website, so that they will be listed near the top. No matter how you see it, this is a complete rip-off. If companies don't pay to advertise their own site, they risk losing visitors, even though the visitor typed their exact domain in the search box.
This is a huge problem because a large percent of web traffic comes from people who don't realize where they should be typing domain names, so they just type them into the search box on their home page, instead of looking for the URL box, which is normally on top. To make matters worse, Microsoft confuses people even more by putting the URL box on the bottom of the screen in Windows 8 and Windows 10.
The solution is simple, when somebody types an exact domain into the search box, it should go directly to the site... NOT a search results page.
Anyone who actually wants to see search results showing sites that mention the domain, rather than go to the page, they can simply type the domain in quotes.
