iPhone Custom White Balance

Why doesn't the iPhone have a Custom White Balance option?
Whenever Apple releases a new iPhone, most of the improvements are related to the camera, because the iPhone is now the most popular camera in the world, yet it lacks one of the most important features that serious photographers need the most, custom white balance.
Custom White Balance isn't a new idea. There is a Custom White Balance feature in almost every camera made by traditional camera makers like Canon, Nikon, and Sony. The question is... why doesn't Apple include this critical feature?
Without a Custom White Balance option, the camera software is forced to guess the color of the light in the room, which isn't very reliable. It's virtually impossible for a camera to know whether it's looking at a slightly yellow dress in white light, or a white dress in yellow light. The result is either a photo that's either too yellow, or too blue.
The solution is pretty simple. All Apple needs to do is give people a quick way to take a picture of something white or gray, then tell the camera software to use that image to determine what the color in the room actually is.
It may sound complicated, but it's actually simple to do. All you do is find something white, take a photo of it, then touch a button that tells the camera software to use that as a representation of white. It only takes a few seconds.
In my case, I keep a small White Balance Reference target in my camera bag. It cost me about $5 and it folds up smaller than the palm of my hand. I aim my Canon at it whenever I change my light source, then tap one button and from that point on it's perfectly calibrated.
