Nobody's ever built a popular video resume site.
Companies often get dozens of resumes from people with equally strong qualifications applying for the same job. So, the final decision is often based entirely on the strength of the interview, regardless of how good your resume is.
The key to the interview is hearing the candidate talk about themselves, what they like about their chosen career, and what makes them the right choice for the job. Hearing their excitement in their own words and watching their faces can make a big difference in getting to know the candidates best.
In the early 80s, there was a flood of "Video Dating Services" popping up to take advantage of the popularity of the invention of the VCR. It made a lot of sense because unlike a photo, you can learn quite a lot about somebody from a 5 or 10 minute video.
Now that just about everyone can post and view videos using their cell phones, it seems pretty odd that there still isn't a popular service for people to post video resumes. It's a no-brainer to me. When I see an untapped market, where there isn't any competition, I know it's only a matter of time before somebody becomes a billionaire.
To do it right, the video resume site should be independent. It's only purpose would be to give people a place to post or view resumes. The candidates could then post the URLs of their resume on popular job sites, social media sites like Facebook or LinkedIn, or send them as links in emails.

Totally love this one.
I know there must be some video resumes out there. I wonder why nobody made one that took off. Ditto for video dating. People already hate the photos because they look fake, but it would be so much better if people posted videos.
