Best Tattoo Ever!

Whenever people asked me what kind of tattoo I would get if I ever got one... I always had this in mind.
When I grew up, tattoos weren't very common in New York City, because for some reason, tattoo parlors were banned in the city. Whenever you saw somebody with a tattoo, it wasn't just some trendy fashion statement. Those tattoos had some kind of deep meaning. Some were reminders of a loved one, others might be a way flip the bird to the universe. Whatever the reason, it said something about who you were and how you felt because it was a reflection of your inner self.
Times have changed, and although a lot of people get a tattoo just to be fashionable, choosing a tattoo is still a tough decision. Since you're going to carry it around for the rest of your life, you still want it be "You".
I've got an odd sense of humor, so whenever I was asked what kind of tattoo I would consider, I would joke that all I would want is a little tattoo that just says "tattoo", so I could say "wanna see my tattoo?", then roll up my sleeve and there it was my tattoo. That's what I would tell people, but the real punchline was that I would have a picture of Hervé Villechaize, also known as "Tattoo" from Fantasy Island.
I always joked about it because I knew that I'd be the only guy in the world that though of it. Apparently, I was wrong. Somebody beat me to it.
I guess I'll have to think about something else. Maybe a tattoo of Tattoo, wearing a tattoo that says "Tattoo". Then I could say "Do you want to see my tattoo of Tattoo's tattoo?" That would be original. Now, if I could only find an artist who can pull it off.
PS... Be sure the artist gets it right. You don't just want any old tattoo of Hervé Villechaize, you could end up with one of Nik Nak.
