.GPS Domain Names

Domain names made it possible for computers to find computer IP addresses. Why not do the same with real addresses?
Sometimes it's frustrating finding an address using a GPS because you get the address wrong. An easy solution is for businesses or individuals to register an easy to remember .GPS domain name that points directly to their physical address.
Over the past, hundreds of new Generic Top Level Domains (gTLDs) such as .lawyer, .movie, and .relator were launched as an alternative to the classic TLDs like, .Com, .Net, and .org. These new TLDs make it possible to have a domain that has something more descriptive at the end, instead of just plain .Com.
My idea is to create a .GPS extension that specifically redirects to a geographic location, so it could be used by a GPS. This would be possible by creating an DNS TXT tags that contains the GPS coordinates, so that when somebody enters something like FranksPizza.GPS, the GPS would be directed to that location, instead of typing in the full address.
For reverse compatibility, typing the .GPS domain into a traditional browser would simply trigger a regular web page with a clickable link to the address. This would work without any modifications to existing SmartPhone based GPS software. All you do is enter the .GPS domain and you'll see the clickable address, along with a map with a pinpoint already selected.
By creating a .GPS registry, all the registry needs to do is require that the registration address be a legitimate mailing address, then use that address to record the actual GPS coordinates that future GPS software would use. Once again, smartphones could use this system right away even without updating the software by redirecting to a web page with the address already on it.
Companies with multiple locations would simply add a prefix. So StatenIsland.Target.GPS would point to the Target on Staten Island.
