E-Ink Watches

I love my Apple Watch, but I wish the time was always visible.
In order to save battery life, most Smart Watches such as the Apple Watch turn the face off unless you either push the crown on the side, or lift your wrist at a certain angle towards your face. This is particularly difficult when you aren't sitting upright because the sensor doesn't always recognize that you're trying to read it. It's also hard to show somebody the time because as soon as you move it away from your face, it vanishes.
This made me think of another alternative... using E-Ink which only uses power whenever the image chances. This means that an E-Ink Watch can show the time 24/7 while using a fraction of the power. E-Ink also has the advantage of being easier to read in bright sunlight, although it would require you to push a button at night to read it in the dark.
Although E-Ink can't be used for video or other animation, it would still be great for many of the most common Smart Watch features, such as timers, electronic payments, fitness tracking, and texting.
Since I've never seen an E-Ink watch in stores, I assumed this was my own idea, but I was happy to discover that there are actually a few new watches on the market that use E-Ink. Maybe it's too soon to see mainstream E-Ink watches, but I think it's got a great potential as an alternative to LCD displays.
