Welcome Back, Barbarino

Here's a movie I'd love to see...
If you grew up in the 70s, you will remember Welcome Back Kotter. It was a huge hit, and it launched John Travolta's career.
The premise was simple. Gabe Kaplan plays a schoolteacher named Gabe Kotter, who was a founding member of a gang of misbehaving students called the "Sweathogs". The Sweathogs were a group of out of control kids who weren't expected to graduate. Kotter returns to his old high school as a teacher and he's assigned to a new generation of Sweathogs, including Vinny Barbarino, played by John Travolta.
The newer Sweathogs are just as out of control as Kotter's generation, but because of his roots, he knows how to relate to them and he becomes a great mentor to them. Like Kotter, Barbarino is the head of the Sweathogs.
I think it would be great to see John Travolta return to the role that made him famous, this time as the teacher. Obviously the success of the movie would hinge on finding a fresh group of young actors to play the new generation of Sweathogs, but Travolta would be the big star.
This would also be a great chance to see Gabe Kaplan return to the role of Kotter, however by this time he would likely be promoted to school principal. If you throw in additional cameos from Lawrence Hilton Jacobs as Dean Freddie "Boom Boom" Washington and you've got what it takes to make a great movie.
