Understanding the #NEVERTRUMP Movement

Why are so many republicans joining the NEVER TRUMP movement?
The "Never Trump" movement started when people started publicly declaring on social media that they would never vote for Donald Trump by using the #NEVERTRUMP hashtag. While this may sound like politics as usual, the interesting thing is that most of the people declaring it are republicans.
What's unusual about it is that they are not only saying they won't vote for him in the Republican Primary, they're also declaring that they won't even vote for him if he gets the nomination.
You would think that a lifelong republican would definitely vote for the Republican candidate in the national election, but the Never Trump supporters say they won't. Here's why.
The main reason for all the fuss is that many traditional Republicans don't consider him a Republican.
While he's definitely running for the Republican nomination, he's never really been associated with either party or their values. This means that he could've flipped a coin and ran in either party. He just happened to decide to run as a Republican.
Since this isn't a political blog, I'll explain it by comparing it to a dance competition.
Let's say your dance team always does the Tango, and your competitors team always dances the Waltz. Every year your team sends the best Tango dancer to face the other team's best Waltz dancer, but this year a new dancer comes in and doesn't Waltz... or Tango. He break dances. Which team should he join? He decides to join the Tango team and the audience love him. He may be a great break dancers, but does that mean the Tango team should support him?
That's pretty much what happened to Donald Trump. He's definitely popular, but many Republicans are upset that he isn't really a Republican, and they are wondering why they should support him. To them it's no different than having a liberal Democrat like Bernie Sanders run as a Republican.
