Why Don't Cars Have Built-In Mobile Phone Holders?

It's a pain in the neck trying to find a good place in most cars to put your mobile phone.
One of the most frustrating things about mobile phones is finding a good place to put them in your car, especially if you need to see the screen so you can use navigation software like Waze.
There are countless widgets on the market that use suction cups, springs and magnets that mount on the dashboard, windshield or your air conditioner vents, but all of them would be unnecessary if cars had some kind of mobile phone holder built-in. Not only would this be easier than some third-party contraption, but it would most likely include some kind of power connection, so you won't have to deal with wires dangling all over the place.
