What Makes a Video Popular? Star Wars and Star Trek vs Bikini Girls

Have you ever wondered why some YouTube videos are more popular than others?
From time to time I look at the statistics on my YouTube Channels and I'm often surprised when some of my more obscure videos get a lot of traffic, as compared to videos I assumed were my best efforts. The truth is, I shouldn't be surprised at all. Certain videos are simply more likely to catch on than others, so I decided to prove that point with a little social experiment.
The experiment is pretty simple. I posted two videos today and both have fundamentally the same script. In fact, they are the same script, word for word, with one simple difference. Both are listed on YouTube as Idea of the day #207. Since both have the same words, and both are being posted the same day, you might expect them to get the same number of views. My guess is one will get quite a bit more attention than the other.
To make it interesting, I've intentionally used references to my most popular subjects in one of the videos. The funny thing is I'm guessing that's not the one that will be the most popular of the two. See if you can guess why?
