No HUG for Leia in Star Wars?

One thing about the Star Wars movies that I find pretty funny is how George Lucas messes up little things like context, and emotion.
Do you remember the scene right after everyone escapes from the Death Star, and Princess Leia comforts Luke Skywalker after he witnesses the death of Ben Kenobi in a duel with Darth Vader?
It's a classic moment. Luke is devastated and can't believe Ben Kenobi is gone, so Princess Leia comes over, puts a blanket on him and consoles him for his loss. That sounds like the right thing to do. But is it? If you think about it, Luke is grieving for an 80 year old man who he just met that day.
Meanwhile a few hours before Luke's loss of a guy he just met, Princess Leia not only lost her entire family, but her entire planet, including millions of people.
That's classic George Lucas. He doesn't seem to grasp some of the finer points of character and emotion. He didn't include any scenes showing Leia's grief, nor consider the fact that SHE was the one who suffered a much greater loss.
