FitBit Should Support Apple HealthKit

Why doesn't Fitbit work with Apple's HealthKit?
One of the biggest selling features for just about any health related device these days is integration with Apple's HealthKit, but for some reason, FitBit, the largest manufacturer of fitness trackers doesn't support it. That's pretty strange.
Apple's HealthKit is a platform for a wide range of health and fitness apps and devices to share data and work together to share data and give you a better look at your health. Because they work together, you can see the relationship between your activity at any given time, and other factors like you blood sugar, heart rate, and blood pressure.
When Apple introduced HealthKit I assumed Fitbit would be one of the first products to use it, but for some reason they decided not to support it because they wanted to focus on their own platform. I can understand why they wouldn't abandon their existing software plans, but there's no reason why they can't export their data into Apple's platform too, so it can integrate with other Apps and devices.
For what it's worth, although Fitbit still remains the biggest selling fitness tracker, I think they're missing a great opportunity to make it even better, by letting other Apps share data.
