Like, Share, Comment, Subscribe... Yada, Yada...

Why do so many YouTubers beg you to Like, Share, Comment, and Subscribe?
You just watched this great video of a cat dressed up like a shark, riding around on a Roomba vacuum, chasing a baby duck. Now what do you do? Most people don't do anything at all. They either pick another video, go to another website, or just get back to work.
While there's nothing wrong with that, if you liked the video, what you really should do is return the favor by simply clicking Like, Share, Comment, and / or Subscribe to the channel. It only takes a fraction of a second, but it really makes a big difference to to people who posted the video.
YouTube is free, so you can watch as many videos as you like without paying a cent, but taking that one extra step by clicking one of the Like, Share, Comment, and Subscribe links not only sends a message to the video creator that you like their video and / or channel, but it also makes sure Google / YouTube knows that you like it too... and that's important because it helps them decide which videos to promote and feature, and which ones to ignore.
The bottom line is that Google / YouTube gets millions of new videos each day, and they can't show them all, so they feature the ones that get the most Likes, Shares, and Comments, plus the ones from Channels with the most subscribers. There's a real snowball effect here. The more people who use those links, the more they feature the videos. The more they feature the videos, the more people will see them and (hopefully) click Like, Share, and Comment.
For YouTubers without a lot of subscribers, every click matters, so if you like a video, it's important that you take a moment to click those links. It not only helps the video creator reach more people, but it also helps YouTube understand what kinds of videos you are interested in, so they can recommend more of the kinds of videos you like most.
