Bring Back The Original Star Wars Novels

Why are the novelizations of the original Star Wars Trilogy out of print?
I realize George Lucas loves to revise and update his movies long after they're released... but does he have to do the same for the novels? I read the original Star Wars books when they first came out, and I was shocked to find that they are no longer in print.
Each of the original Star Wars movie novelizations have been replaced by updated versions that incorporate references to things that were introduced in the Prequels, such as Midicloreans, and subtle things like references to places and events that took place before the Original Trilogy.
I'm totally fine with the introduction of newer versions, but there's no reason why the originals are out of print.
